The vet alley is a specialized area designed for veterinarians and herd managers to attend to the dairy cows. The building consists of a mixture of cast-in-place and Octaform concrete walls that support roof trusses provided by a wood building supplier.
The vet alley has multiple rooms (footbath, chemical, hospital parlor, vet, boiler, electrical, lunch) and pens (hospital holding, rest, calf). These various rooms require different slab slopes and elevations.
Due to the long, thin building footprint, the vet alley presents unique challenges with respect to diaphragm transfer from the wood building into the concrete shear walls. MP-Squared works closely with the wood building supplier to ensure adequate load transfer from the wood structure to our foundations.
