Riverview’s Shoparator is a specialized facility that combines the manure separator and truck shop. Riverview recycles 100% of its manure into bedding and liquid fertilizer for local farmers, and this building is where it’s processed.
The Shoparator consists of cast-in-place concrete walls that support a wood structure provided by a wood building supplier. MP-Squared works closely with the supplier to ensure adequate load transfer from the wood structure to our foundations. We design some of the concrete walls for push forces from a front-end loader used to haul the dry material.
The separator portion of the building has a cantilevered deck that supports mechanical equipment used to filter, sort and divide raw agricultural outputs. There is also a day pit, an approximately 16-foot-deep pit designed to retain liquid waste. A portion of the day pit is capped with precast planks to allow for a drive aisle above.
