Structural Engineer of Record for Holding Pens throughout the U.S.—Reinforced Concrete Design • Foundation Design

Dairy cows are moved from the main barn into the holding pen to await milking in the parlor. The layout of the pen is designed for efficient cow movement and worker safety. The building has a gradual sloping slab throughout and concrete divider walls to facilitate the cows’ journey.

The holding pen consists of cast-in-place concrete exterior walls that support wood posts and wood trusses above. MP-Squared works closely with the wood building supplier to ensure adequate load transfer from the wood structure to our foundations.

The holding pen also houses a boiler room, electrical room and footbath.
