Structural Design: Brooks House Student Apartments

Structural Engineer of Record: five-story, wood-framed student housing apartment building

Located in downtown Madison, Brooks House is the epitome of modern campus living. MP-Squared provided the structural design for this five-story student housing building with one level of underground parking.

The building includes 14 units and 42 total bedrooms. It’s comprised of four stories of conventionally wood-framed construction—consisting of parallel chord wood floor trusses and dimension lumber exterior wood studs over two floors of precast concrete planks, with one level of below-grade bike and moped parking.

The site required zero-lot-line footing design along two foundation walls..
