Nothing makes us hoppier than seeing our projects come to life in our community! Hop Haus BrewPub in Fitchburg is a local destination that includes a brewery, restaurant and outdoor and rooftop patios.
MP-Squared worked closely with the architect to create an industrial, yet warm vibe in the interior and to seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor spaces. The building is wood-framed, with steel framing used to support the roof trusses, large glass garage doors and windows. The exposed structure of the wood ceiling trusses, steel beams and steel columns are surrounded by exposed duct work, brick walls and natural barn wood veneer.
The wood trusses also serve as the rooftop patio floor, which is accessed by a winding, open stair. Designing the single stair, with three exit points, was one of the most complicated aspects of the project. Another challenging facet of the project was designing for different roof levels, including the rooftop patio and multiple parapets, which called for many different snow drift calculations and loading conditions.
MP-Squared also designed the foundation for the pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) that houses the brewery and integrated the PEMB with the conventional-framed building.
