MP-Squared provided the structural design for a two-story student housing addition located on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Two new stories were added to the top of an existing reinforced concrete structure. The existing framing and footings were evaluated for the additional loading. MP-Squared used creative framing strategies to force the load into specific existing members. Services also included providing consulting and opening design for structural slab penetrations to incorporate new stairs, plumbing chases, etc. The addition is framed using a combination of structural steel and wood framing.
