MP-Squared Structural Engineers (MP2) provided the structural design services for Electronic Theatre Controls’ (ETC) newest expansion at their flagship facility in Middleton. Extraordinary in concept, this addition fulfilled the dreams of the visionary leadership team at ETC.

Exposed structural steel framing elements, oversized in some locations for visual effect, gave MP2 the ability to show off the structural system that we designed. Modified shipping containers were stacked in unique layouts to serve as office and meeting areas.

To provide an area for the R&D division of ETC to fully test the capabilities of their systems, MP2 designed a portion of the roof system to handle significant gravity and impact loading. Finally, lateral support was provided for a nearly 40-foot-tall curtain wall, which showcases the unique interior for all to see.
