Boys & Girls Club Addition and Remodel – Oshkosh, Wisconsin

SERVICE: Structural Engineer of Record

The Boys & Girls Club has been improving the lives of children and families nationwide since 1860. The Oshkosh branch opened in 1970 and has been operating out of its East Parkway facility since 1993. Due to tremendous growth and community support, the facility desperately needed to expand to avoid turning children away.

MP-Squared partnered with CR-Meyer as the Structural Engineer of Record on this multi-phase project. Phases included a new multi-level administrative center, a gymnasium addition, an elementary wing addition and a remodel of their teen center.

Primary framing in the administration center and elementary addition consists of structural steel and open web steel joists. Steel moment frames were utilized for lateral resistance.

The gymnasium building utilizes precast wall panels with open web steel joist roof framing. This addition also features a free-standing, steel-framed connector building between the new and existing gymnasium.

The teen center remodel included modifications to existing reinforced masonry.
